Quarantine Poems: The Haiku Series

Haiku Series 1: Poetry

more than syllables
and lines – a break between for
balance and meaning

What makes you tremble?
What memory holds regret?
How deep lies your fear?

How’d you lose your bliss?
How do you survive without
wings? Why do you run?

Haiku Series 2: Politics

a hit to the heart
like a thunderbolt; trembling
with fear, awe, wonder

waiting for corners
to turn to softer days; sigh!
endless taut sharp sting

selfish birds of the
same feathers, flock together
wreaking their havoc

Haiku Series 3: Memes

illness is an
act of nature; acts of God are
when we go to help

forest believes axe
is one of them because its
handle’s made of wood
